Certification

The main purpose of SK is to be the leading provider of certification products and services in Estonia. Our main service is provision of different certificates to physical persons and organisations. Currently, the largest project handled by SK involves issuing authentication and digital signature certificates to Estonian ID cards. In addition to those we offer a selection of other certificates, e.g. certificates for devices.

Besides certificates, SK offers different information and validation services which provide information on validity of certificates as well as are necessary for use of digital signatures. Also, we offer chip cards which are the most secure tokens for certificate and private key storage and use.

Facts: There are approximately 930,000 ID cards actively in use in Estonia. The total number of cards issued stands at over 1,000,000. Legal persons can use "Business ID" product by SK which includes authentication and digital signature certificates issued to an organisation and a chip card as well as a set of procedures defining its us. Organisations are using this product e.g. as a digital stamp. Customers of SK include Estonian Central Bank, Republics of Latvia and Lithuania, all Estonian banks, Eesti Energia energy company and many others.
